Carrickfergus Road Safety Committee hosted the local road safety quiz on Wednesday 27th January 2016. The Oakfield Primary School team scooped first prize amidst stiff competition from six other local primary schools. The team of four winning Oakfield Primary 7 pupils comprised of: Poppy Walker, Kathryn Howard, Abby Green and Emma Smyth. The event was co-ordinated by Isobel Day (Road Safety Committee) and PSNI Constable David Maguire. The Road Safety trophy was presented to the Oakfield team by Deputy Mayor of Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, Councillor Timothy Gaston. School Principal, Mr George McCluskey, commented on how well the team had worked together and he praised them for their excellent knowledge of road safety.
